Document Tracking
Track receipts and outstanding documents as activities inside document control — not a second DMS.
Document Tracking is a seeded activity type. Procedures can target documents. Generate Activities can raise a tracking item for every matching file when a new pack lands. Assignment, steps, evidence, and My Work then behave like the rest of Work Space.
We do not ship a transmittal or receipt state machine. Sent, received, and acknowledged are labels or procedure steps you configure. The word on the badge is the search term people use; the product is document-targeted work on the completions model.
Chase the pack as work, not as a reminder
Outstanding documents fail when they are a highlighted row in a register nobody owns. A Document Tracking activity has an assignee, a due date, and a close. That is how a pack actually comes back.
What it does
- ✓Raise tracking activities targeted at specific documents or revisions
- ✓Define procedures for receipt checks, review, or sign-off with evidence
- ✓Bulk-generate tracking activities across document targets from a procedure
- ✓Assign tracking tasks into My Work and Lookahead
- ✓Label by phase or discipline for dashboard breakdowns
- ✓Link tracking work to tags and hierarchies when the document is already referenced there
- ✓Export document-tracking activities with linked metadata
- ✓Part of document control — not a second document management system
Highlights
- • Document-targeted activities are first-class, not a hack on tags
- • Generate Activities closes gaps when new drawings arrive in bulk
- • Transmittal semantics are modelled, not hard-coded
- • Same offline and field rules as other activities
