Project Planning

Plan from live completions data — every tagged item, not a summary bar. Handover dates and progress sit on the same model the field is executing.

Planning in Doc-u-menT is planned and actual dates on the work itself, at tag level, by default. Every ITR, cert, punch, and care activity can carry start, finish, and duration against the equipment it belongs to. Lookahead then buckets what is coming. Gateway shows Mechanical Completion, Pre-Commissioning, and Handover as certification milestones that roll up from those items.

That is a different grain from a package programme. P6 is baked in on most sites, and it plans bars — not the tagged item. We plan the tagged item first: the activity, the gate, and the person who will do it this week. A Gantt on the dashboard would only be another view of that same model, not the thing that makes the plan true.

The plan is the tagged work. A Gantt is just a view of it.

Plan against the work that will actually run

Overview is the programme view: completed versus planned hours on the tagged work, with notable events shaded on the same chart. Lookahead then buckets upcoming planned starts by label and package. Field assignees see those dates in My Work. That is planning against execution, not a shadow spreadsheet.

Overview — cumulative planned versus actual on the tagged work.

Handover as a gate, not a cell

HC-1 and the readiness roll-up are how handover dates become real. Child subsystems complete; the system-level certification becomes ready. A programme bar can say “handover in June”. The tagged items underneath are what actually close it.

Gateway — Mechanical Completion and Pre-Commissioning. Handover fills when HC work exists.

What it does

  • Plan at tag level by default — dates sit on the activity and the tagged item, not only on a package bar
  • Set planned start and finish on any activity during create or edit
  • Track actual dates and see planned-versus-actual on the same record the field is running
  • Lookahead of upcoming work by day or week, filterable by phase labels and hierarchy packages
  • Gateway milestones from mechanical completion through handover certification, rolled up from tagged work
  • Auto-generate downstream certification activities from progression rules as tags enter scope
  • My Work orders assigned queues by planned date and priority
  • Overview progress chart for cumulative planned versus actual
  • Export planning fields through Data Hub for offline reporting
  • Configure gateway names and dashboard panels per project

Highlights

  • Tag-level dates are the default, not an optional extra
  • Same planned dates feed dashboards and field My Work
  • Handover is a certification roll-up, not a lone milestone cell
  • Lookahead is live against the local project
